Patterns & Eros

Paintings, Photos and Objects

Tattooed skin and painted porcelain share a common language of surface. Both carry stories, ornaments, fractures and meanings – and both exist in the tension between fragility and permanence. Tattoos inscribe themselves into living tissue; porcelain preserves marks for centuries. In this project, bodies and ceramics encounter each other as two media that mirror each other: skin becomes a shimmering surface crisscrossed with patterns, porcelain becomes a body bearing traces of touch, colour and time. The erotic presence of the body meets the detached perfection of ceramics. The selected works show how cultural motifs – dragons, waves, flowers, lines and abstract forms – move from vessel to body and back again. Between intimacy, fragility and strength, a new poetics of the surface emerges, an encounter between ornament, sensuality and fragile beauty.
